A young boy in Shanzu Mtwapa found doing homework on the street relying on streetlight due to Kerosene hiked price

Immediately after the government increases the price of super petrol, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) did not also spare households relying on Kerosene as a source of power after adjusting upwards the price of Kerosene 

Families living below the poverty line, seems to have been affected most especially those in rural setups

So as to complete his homework since his parents cannot afford Kerosene for his studies at night, ayoung boy surprised many after he was found lying on his stomach doing his home work along a roadside using streets lights.

Salim Khamisi a Grade 6 pupil from Jola Urabi primary in Shanzu Mtwapa, said his residence had  power but his parents had not paid tokens and even can’t buy Kerosene because they hav no money
