“I believe the party’s blueprint has the solution to bridge the widening gap between the rich and the poor and that is why I am asking all of us to get on-board and walk together towards prosperity for all,” the governor said in a statement after meeting several youth groups at her official residence in Kagio.
Waiguru was speaking on Friday at a meeting with youth drawn from Mwea, Ndia, Kirinyaga Central and Gichugu constituencies.
Speaking at meeting with youths from different constituencies in Kirinyaga, Waiguru termed the government’s ‘trickle down’ model, employed since independence as a failure urging the youths to advocate for change with the help of the bottom-up model which has since then been a success.
She further advised the youths to choose wisely when voting for political candidates stating that majority of politicians make empty promises before the polls, only to disappear immediately after getting into office.
