The names of 8 Kenyan billionaires controling Kenyan politics behind closed doors

these millionaires receive a return from the networks they establish when their political partners reach power

Politics in Kenya are numerous and, with the passage of time, the types of policies adopted by the various leaders of the country continue to evolve.

It has recently emerged that most Kenyan politicians rely heavily on fundraising from some of Kenya’s wealthiest individuals and families to stay in power.

Before he died, businessman Chris Kirubi confessed to paying politicians hundreds of millions of dollars during election campaigns, sparking a debate on the dependence of most Kenyan politicians on donors.

However, these millionaires receive a return from the networks they establish when their political partners reach power.

Jimmy Wanjigi
Wanjigi is among the richest Kenyan billionaires to enter Kenyan politics, along with the associates of former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga.

Jimmy Wanjigi is said to be among the prominent figures who supported Raila Odinga by supporting his campaigns and building a presidential campaign secretariat.

James Mwangi, CEO and co-founder of Equity Bank, and Peter Munga, also co-founder of Equity Bank, have financed most of Central Kenyan politicians.

Other prominent businessmen who have played key roles in forming alliances and funding candidates include Narendra Raval Guru of the Devki Group of Companies, the late Chris Kirubi, the president of Royal Media Services S.K. Macharia, who backed Raila against all odds in 2013, and Kenyan National Chamber of Commerce president Richard Ngatia.

They are said to be the driving force behind the presidential campaign of former Gatanga constituency MP Peter Kenneth.

In his party, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka had the support of former Machakos County Senator Johnstone Muthama, who has now abandoned him in favor of current Vice President William Ruto.

He is said to be the head of multibillion-dollar companies in need of funding, and the only solution is a reliable politician vying for the top position.
