Vice President William Ruto has opened the matter between him and the Secretary General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions Francis Atwoli by saying why the COTU leader does not like him. Atwoli has publicly campaigned against DP Ruto’s candidacy and said Ruto will not win the presidency in the upcoming August elections.
Speaking during a breakfast meeting with the Kenyan Producers’ Association held at his Karen, Nairobi County residence, Ruto didn’t hesitate to tell the producers that theirs was a constant quarrel between him and Atwoli.
Ruto mentioned Atwoli’s name as he explained to investors why he disagrees with the amount of money paid for the savings kitty in Kenya.
DP said that a country like Uganda has a law in which 10% of one’s salary is deducted on savings unlike Kenya.
It was at this point that he told the producers that he had a fight with the boss of the workers’ union Francis Atwoli because Atwoli was opposed to saving.
“The big fight that I have, you know I have a fight with Atwoli. I don’t like Atwoli at all because I don’t understand how he can oppose the rescue,” said Ruto.
