He said the constitution is very clear that we have two levels of government: that is the national and the county.

“If you are leading a county government. You are in government, which one again do they want you to get into?” Raila questioned.

He said counties get allocations from the national government because they have to be given as required by the law

” We know what happened. Even those propagating that I did not get votes from the mount. Those people voted for us and I know it. I know the work that was done there. They stood with us.” Raila said

Raila was speaking during the burial of Mzee Nyangaga Akoth, a member of the Luo Council of Elders, on Saturday.

He also took a swipe at the current administration on the issues that people were being told that they should join the government to get or have development projects in their regions.

“We cannot be threatened to join the government, which government?” he questioned.
