President William Ruto has made surprise appointments in Permanent Secretaries positions contrary to the expecting of many kenyans. Kenyans expected to see new faces to serve as Permanent Secretaries across the various departments in Government.
Ruto nominated Permanent Secretaries and sent the names to National Assembly for consideration and approval.
In the long list of PSs, the Head of State has decided to chooses a huge number of technocrats compared to politicians like many people expected
The President also surprised many by retaining some of the PSs who served diligently in Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet. Some of the Permanent Secretaries retained include Charles Hinga who will continue serving as the Permanent secretary in charge of Housing and State Department.
Prof Belio Kipsang who served in the Ministry of Education for years has also been retained as the Permanent secretary in charge of Basic Education.
Dr. Chris Kiptoo who was serving as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment has been appointed to serve as the PS in charge of National Treasury which is a sensitive docket.
Dr. Julius Korir who served as the Permanent secretary in State Department for Youths during Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has been appointed as the Permanent secretary in State Department for Cabinet Affairs
